For the defunct 2013 album there was a song written that was called “Love Song”, which was a lengthy piece of maybe five or six minutes. That old “Love Song ’13” was built around an electric piano riff that started and ended the song and was later re-purposed for the song “Something Beautiful” on the Sinclair Soul record The Girl with No Name in 2021. Fast forward to 2019 and I wrote a personal song for my son and his wife when they got married that year called “Jeremariah”. I thought that was a pretty good song but wanted to make more general so I repurposed that song from 2019 and came up with a new love song, which appeared here on Another Rock to Roll and also later on the Sinclair Soul album Pieces from the Past.
On the whole, “Love Song” might be the most straightforward pop song in the collection of any of my records in this solo version. It’s pretty much just as good as the later version with the group. The song is mainly acoustic throughout and built on some country-like hammer-on riffs along with straightforward rock pop vocals.

Lyrics
Give it room to find its way
The bigger picture is never clear on the first day
Enjoy the moments for what they are
There’s just upside in trying to stretch it out too far
The shooting star only lasts a few seconds when observed from the ground
But this world, it remains round, there’s so much here to be found
I see you yes, I know you, want to show you
That love will find you wherever you are
I hear you because I’m near you, my eyes are clear for you
And love will find you wherever you are
Give it breath, then let it breathe
There is no use in being trapped there underneath
Take the moments as they arrive
There’s much elation just to keep this thing alive
The constellation remains for all our days
Far beyond some novel craze, a whole lifetime to amaze
I see you yes, I know you, long to show you
That love will find you wherever you are
I hear you, always near you, won’t disappear from you
And love will find you wherever you are
Oh, wherever you are, boundless hope on the horizon, be it near or be it far
Oh, as we steer by the stars, immense love will recognize you there where you are
Right there where you are, do do do do, do, do, oh
I see you, yes, I know you, sure can show you love
