One of the more fun songs on the record, “I’m Your Man” originated about two decades before Another Rock to Roll, but I never really attempted to record it until this 2022 project. In any case, “I’m Your Man” was always intended to be a sort of a spoof on the Johnny Cash song and I believe the final product delivers this pretty well.
This was, in part, due to the coaching of Ron Simasek, who directed the consistent drumming and pretty much arranged the overdubbed percussion parts. “I’m Your Man” is also notable as the only one that I’ve ever published in which I play harmonica, albeit in a very loose way during the later verses.
