Developed on an acoustic using ‘DADGAD’ tuning, “Wasted” is another experimental track. The tuning adds either a Celtic or Middle Eastern feel while some backwards-masked effect along with mellotron strings and a boogie piano which collectively offer unbalanced but interesting sonic features.
This song is also notable on two fronts – as the only song on Out There Somewhere that was left over from sessions for the previous Sinclair Soul album (>The Good Guys) and it features the oldest lyric of any in my published songs. The final lines (“Friday night was oh so long and I lost my favorite song / but you can sing any song you want, if you would just make up your mind”) was written for a song way back in the Spring of 1987.

In re-examining this life up to this point I do conclude
